Privacy policy

This policy explains what information HotelsViewer (“we”, “us”) collects when you visit this website, and how it is used.

What we collect

Analytics, only if you agree. With your permission we use Google Analytics (Google LLC) to count visits and see which pages are read. Until you click “Allow analytics” in the box at the bottom of the page, nothing is loaded from Google and no analytics cookies are set. If you allow it, Google receives your IP address and browser and device details, and sets cookies (named _ga and _ga_…) on this site. You can change your choice at any time with “Analytics settings” in the footer; choosing “No thanks” there removes those cookies. See the Google privacy policy. We don't run advertising tools. Fonts and photos are served from our own server.

Place suggestions. When you type in the “Where are you going?” box, the letters you type are sent to Photon (photon.komoot.io, run by komoot) to suggest matching places from OpenStreetMap. Photon receives your IP address and the text typed in that box, and sets no cookies on this site. Nothing is sent until you type there. Your last five searches are kept only in your own browser (local storage, not a cookie), so the home page can show them to you again; we never receive them, and clearing your browser data removes them.

Affiliate script. Our pages load a script from Stay22 (lma.stay22.com), our affiliate partner. It finds the hotel booking links on the page and turns them into affiliate links, so that a booking can be credited to us. To do this, Stay22 may receive your IP address and browser details and may set cookies or similar identifiers. See the Stay22 privacy policy.

Server logs. Like any website, our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, such as your IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of the request. They are used to keep the site secure and running.

Messages you send. If you email us, we receive your email address and your message, and use them only to reply and to fix the page you wrote about.

If we add an email newsletter or other tools later, we will update this policy before we do.

Booking links and cookies on other sites

The “Check prices” buttons, and the ticket and transport buttons under “After the window”, lead to booking and ticket sites. Once you are there, that site and any affiliate network that runs its program, such as Travelpayouts, may set cookies, so that a booking can be credited to us. These companies have their own privacy policies. See our affiliate disclosure for how the links work.

How we use information

We use the information above to run the site, answer your messages and correct our pages. We don't sell your personal information.

Your choices

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what information we hold about you, or to have it deleted. To make a request, email contact@hotelsviewer.com.

Children

The site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their personal information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
