Read the small print in the room name

Garden View is not Mt.Fuji View
At the Fuji View Hotel, the Moderate Twin Room and the Moderate Japanese-Style Room are each sold two ways. “Fuji View” is in the hotel's name, but only the room with “Mt.Fuji View” in its name comes with the mountain.
Lake View is not Mountain View
At Fujikawaguchiko Onsen Konansou, the same kinds of room are sold with a lake view or a mountain view. Travels With Elle says some rooms face Mount Fuji and others face the lake, without naming categories.
Mt. Fuji View is not No Mt. Fuji View
The Oike Hotel sells one room under the name “Business Small Double Room, No Mt. Fuji View”. The five categories we recommend there carry the view in the name.

The view from the bath

At some Lake Kawaguchi hotels the Fuji view is from a bath or a terrace, not from the room. Kawaguchiko.net names the hot spring baths at the Tominoko Hotel and the observatory and baths at Wakakusa no Yado Maruei Ryokan.

Questions

Of the hotels we checked in October 2026: Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko, Hotel Mifujien, Fuji View Hotel and Oike Hotel sell categories with Mt. Fuji in the name. Fujikawaguchiko Onsen Konansou sells mountain view categories, but its sources don't agree on which rooms face the mountain.

Does a hotel called “Fuji View” put every room facing the mountain?

No. The Fuji View Hotel sells some of its rooms with a garden view. Book a category with “Mt.Fuji View” in the name.

Which hotel has the most Mount Fuji view room types?

Hotel Regina Kawaguchiko, with 16 on Expedia: eight room types, each in two versions, all with Mt. Fuji View in the name.

Can any room promise a clear view of Mount Fuji?

No room can promise a clear day. The mountain is often hidden by cloud, so the category name tells you which way the room faces, not whether you will see the summit.
